Back to the real world

I have been out of touch for a few days because I was in small town Texas for my friend’s wedding. I had a great time spending time with my college buddies. One of my old roommates and I drove down together and played catch up. The other bridesmaids caught up with us throughout the weekend. We had so much fun with our 3 day slumber party that we have decided to have grown-up slumber parties every 6 weeks. I think that is such a fun/crazy idea. For the past few years we have done a monthly/quarterly dinner with all the girls (about 10 of us from college) so we have been able to keep up with each other. But the slumber party will be more intimate, there will only be a few of us and we will have more than 1 hour together.

How do you keep up with your friends?

PS – I am so excited that Grey’s is back on!

  1. It’s honestly incredibly hard for me to see my friends very often since I’ve moved 2500 miles away from my hometown and many of my friends have also spread out across the country since they’ve graduated. I’ve also made lots of friends through the Air Force and even the internet that live very far away, so unfortunately frequent get togethers just aren’t possible. We do lots of phone calls, emailing, and a lot of them are on myspace, facebook, or they read my blog and we keep up that way.

It really does let you know who your true friends are though, when it takes that much effort to stay in touch!!

  2. Sadly, since moving away, facebook and myspace have been the best resources! We occasionally talk on the phone too. It seems like the only time we all get together anymore are for weddings! But soon we’ll all be paired off, with no reason to get together!

Angela’s right though, the effort of long distance friendships really does make you see who your true friends are.

  3. it was such a good weekend, filled with too much candy and a million songs…and i can’t wait till our first grown-up slumber party! :)
    (and ditto on the p.s.!)
