Think Pink

The color pink is linked to lower stress!

Not that I need an excuse to have pink in my life but I just read this tip from Real Simple’s September issue.

The color pink is linked to lower stress!

Stress Less – Think Pink

You may find it too girly to wear, but, surprisingly, a bubblegum shade of pink originally called Baker-Miller Pink has been shown to have a temporary soothing effect, actually lowering blood pressure. To add a little pink to your day (without repainting your office), make your screensaver a bright pink image, store papers in pink file folders, put a pink pillow on your chair, or note memos on Pink Post-it Notes

… and of course read and tell your friends about GenPink!

Yay for Pink! What’s your favorite pink thing of the moment? Mine is my iPhone cover.

PS this is my first post from my WordPress iPhone app :)

  1. That makes sense. I tend to wear pink whenever I need a little pick-me-up. Even though I don’t really like the color. Probably because I once had a room painted Pepto- Bismol pink… apparently medicinal colors don’t always “medicate” when you have to look at them all day and wonder how Pepto-Bismol got to be such an ugly color.

    Great blog!

  2. This may sound silly, but wearing orange (a tasteful shade) can completely boost my confidence level. I am a soon-to-be attorney, so bright colors are hardly accepted in my profession. Wearing orange makes me feel like I’m bucking the system and confident enough to stand out. Plus, it’s a fairly non-conventional color, so you’re bound to be noticed! Orange may not be the new pink, but it makes a good statement! (Note–I keep it to one orange piece…tasteful, not tacky!)
