A hobbit experience in Dallas (plus shopping!)

Elves, hobbits and humans are invited to see Middle Earth in Dallas at the Equest Tolkien Experience. Taking place at The Shire at Preston Hollow, this home took seven years to create and was influenced by The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. The house is a must-see for fans of the movies and for those who love to shop.

Enjoy a tour of the 9,000-square-foot Main House, an attached Conservatory, the Old Forest, a water bridge, and a guest house, known as the Hobbit House.

 

Shoppers can browse through an array of couture women’s apparel, fine jewelry, and accessories. Here’s a preview of some of the exquisite merchandise that’ll be available for purchase:

Schedule:

  • Thursday, April 6 from 3 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with live music from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by Celtic band Beyond the Pale
  • Friday, April 7 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with entertainment by DJ Andy Austin from noon to 5:00 p.m.

These events are open to the public, and you must be 21+ to enter. (Complimentary valet is provided.) It’s best to wear flat, sturdy shoes for crossing drawbridges and moats. (Flower crowns and elf ears optional!)

A $20 minimum donation will be appreciated to benefit Equest, a nonprofit serving people with disabilities through equine facilitated therapies. RSVP here.
