A Very Merry UnHalloween

We bought our house in May, so we weren’t sure what to expect for our first Halloween as homeowners. The mister stopped by the store on his way home to grab some candy. But, turns out, we live in an anti-trick-or-treater neighborhood. Not one.

We had a quiet evening at home. Rory made a super yum meal and we watched Oz, the Great and Powerful. I got to see photos of friends’ little ones in costumes thanks to the internets.

The only thing quasi Halloweenish that I did today was stop by my client’s store to take a picture for their Instagram. This quick in-and-out visit was bittersweet. I’ve worked with this brand for two years on all things social. But starting November 1st they will have a new agency of record.

And on that note, I really enjoyed this post about asking what’s next. I’d say this applies not only to asking others but also yourself.

  1. It sounds like you had a low-key but lovely Halloween. I’m sorry your client is moving on (I’ve been there!) but new doors will open, I bet. Good luck in your new adventures! (found you via Texas Women Bloggers – my site is http://sanantoniomomblogs.com).

  2. My neighborhood is the same way. We had no one come by. I was quite sad about it. But… more candy for me :)

  3. We only had a few trick or treaters in our neighborhood….it made me sad because I was so excited for it :(

  4. I didn’t have one trick or treater either! We just made dinner and watched walking dead! :)

  5. Thank you. I love that quote about staring at the closed door and missing the open one. I’m ready for that open door!

  6. Trick or treaters…that meant I would have had to have turned on my front porch light : Oops. By the time I got home from work, there were no little ones left, just the kids bigger than me!
