In August I…

Another month has passed. This one was a busy one! In August I…

  • Took a road trip with the husband to spend the weekend with some friends in small town Texas. We went out on their boat, spent the evening drinking on their patio. Reminded me of the times we used to stay up late chatting about life back in college
  • Had a girl’s night with Wine, Cheese & Charcuterie Board at Standard Pour in Dallas
  • I wrote about 7 Ways to Refresh Your Summer. I’m super excited about that post, because a) the photos were taken on the beach! b) it was sponsored by Starbucks!. Having a post sponsored by Starbucks feels like an official milestone in making it as a pro blogger. Dontcha think?
  • A tiny snake managed to find his way into my living, and the people of Facebook that I call my friends proceeded to laugh at me about it
  • I attended DFW Restaurant Week’s Opening party!
  • The husband, with the help of his dad and brother, refloored one of our bathrooms! That makes our bathroom with 80s carpet down to 1 out of 3!
  • While they were doing that, I went to Galleria Dallas’ Fall Fashion show with the mother in law!
  • And then we proceeded to hit up the thrift stores. I’m pretty sure that’s not what we were supposed to do after the fashion show :)
  • The Genpink team had a fun photo shoot! We have new head shots that will be coming soon to the About page and an updated media kit. Preview here.
  • I promised to share more unfinished photos of my home. Which I haven’t done yet.
  • I talked a little bit more about my California trip and the lovely KatyDid Collection items I was wearing during my day at The Getty!
  • I added photos to all 7 years of August blog posts from the past and then shared tips on how you can optimize your old blog posts for Pinterest and other social mediaing.
  • We had a fun cheeseboard and wine night at home. That had an imbalance of crackers to cheese.
  • We did a staycation weekend in Fort Worth! While we were there we had some great noms, visited two art galleries, walked around Sundance Square, got rained on briefly and managed to get lost and end up 20 miles outside the city. Oops.
  • I spoke at Junior League of Dallas’ Communications meeting about social media and blogging.
  • I took every little black dress I own out of two different closets, tried them on and made my husband take pictures of what I look like in each of them. Then I proceeded to add 3 of them to the donate bin.
  • And last but not least I had a fun night with four Dallas bloggers. We took turns taking pictures of each other for upcoming outfit posts. Here’s a preview:

PS: There are photos for most of these adventures on Instagram. Are we friends on the ‘gram yet? I may or may not have a fun giveaway in September. *hint hint*

What as the highlight of your August?
