5 Beach Essentials to Pack

Don’t ruin your fun-in-the-sun vacation by forgetting to bring along the important stuff! GenPink rounded up a list of essentials items to pack if you’re headed to the beach this summer.

Waterproof Makeup

Don’t you hate it when your makeup smears after a long day outside? When I know I’m going to play in the water, I switch my makeup to the waterproof type. Beauty stores sell all sorts of waterproof eyeliner, mascara, lip balm and more. Before your trip, purchase the waterproof makeup items you need, so you can look hot and not worry about any smudges on your face!

Magazines

I love those lazy days at the beach where I just lounge around reading magazines. It gives me some time to catch up on the latest fashion trends and celebrity gossip. It’s entertaining and relaxing. Stock up on your favorite magazines before embarking on your trip. Have an iPad or other tablet? I’ve downloaded some free travel issues from various publishing companies that are a great read as well. Just remember to keep your tablet away from  the water!

Good Tunes

A trip to the beach isn’t perfect without your favorite songs! Create a beach playlist on your iPod or MP3 player to set the tone of your trip. Some beach-type music I enjoy are songs by Bob Marley, Schwayze, Rihanna and John Mayer.

Cheap Flip Flops

I like to reserve my nice flip flops and other shoes for going out, and I wear a cheap pair of flip flops to the beach. (Just in case they get ruined and dirty!) Old Navy carries $5 flip flops, and I always buy a couple pairs that match my swimsuit every summer. I rather take the chance on ruining these more than my more expensive sandals. Can you relate?

Cash

If you’re visiting a different country this summer, it may be easier to spend cash than a credit card. Always have some cash with you just in case a store does not accept credit cards. Another reason I like to have cash in my purse is when I’m splitting a meal or drinks with a group of friends.

Enjoy your vacation!
