Bestest Ever, Ever Song!

Taylor Swift is a certified hit maker—there are no questions about that. Since her first-ever song to her recent single, all have infiltrated major charts in different places all-over the globe. She has been coming up with a string of popular songs, back-to-back. Her latest single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is no exception. This song has been topping different charts all over the world. It also has been one of the fastest-selling song on the online music store iTunes. This song was also the first-ever song from Taylor to peak at number one on the Billboard Top 100.

Who can resist the temptation of singing that infectious chorus? We bet you can’t stop yourself from singing along with it! But as they say, every success has a story. Do you know how Taylor and her co-composers came up with this song?

Back in 2010, after writing all of the songs for her album “Speak Now”, Swift has decided to do something different in her upcoming album. She has decided to tap the services of several songwriters and producers for her new album, Red. While looking for a good concept for a new song, one of Taylor’s friend’s ex-boyfriend came into the studio and was spreading rumors that she is reuniting with the guy’s former girl. Taylor’s friend and her ex had a very tumultuous relationship. One moment they’re sweet, the other their hating each other’s guts. After the other songwriter’s probe about the guy and his relationship with her friend, one of Taylor’s co-writers came up with the idea about writing a song about the incident. With its very catchy lyrics and perfect melody, Taylor and her colleagues were able to come up this infectious music that had most of us got singing. The rest, as they call it, was history.

So what made this a very popular hit? The song tells a story that most of us, if not all of us have encountered. Somehow, we can all relate to having a turbulent relationship and how hard it is to deal with it. It comes to a point where we’ve lost all the love that we feel and everything becomes hate. We can all relate with the feeling of having someone trying their all to win us back, and yet just don’t feel anything anymore for that person.

The music video for the song was launched in August and since then people have been making requests left and right just to hear the song at watch the video. Taylor performed the song live for the first time at the recently held MTV Video Music Awards 2012 in Staples Center. She was the finale act and this was the final song performed for the event.
