DFW Staycation Idea: Our Stay at The Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West!

Thanks to The Renaissance Dallas at Plano for hosting us for the purpose of this feature. And thanks to our lovely readers for supporting the businesses that partner with Genpink.

Rory and I took a little staycation a few weeks back at the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West, and it was ah-mazing! I felt rejuvenated and relaxed afterwards, and it felt like we’d gone away for a weekend instead of staying local. I took a ton of pictures and wanted all of you to know about this North Texas gem. Read on to see where you should book your next staycation!

The Lobby
As soon as you walk in, you notice the natural light and how open everything feels. The entire hotel has a fun fusion of East and West, with Asian and Texan cultures meeting up everywhere. The natural light was the hotel’s way of bringing in more Feng Shui, and I loved how large and open it made everything feel. One of my favorite parts of the lobby was the massive stairwell – take a look at that thing!

The stairwell also leads you to some wall art of origami Texas steers – isn’t that a fun way to mix the Eastern and Western decor?

It felt like the hotel was a museum at certain points just because every wall and room had some sort of artwork; it made the whole hotel feel so classy, and it was fun being able to stop on our way to each amenity and take in all of the details.

The Amenities

One of our first stops was the “R” library – there were lots of books to choose from, and the hallway have a really fun vibe. (I’m thinking Rory or a certain toddler might like to have a giant R library of their own)

In the lobby is one of the most unique hotel bathrooms I’ve seen, they appropriately call it the “WOW Restroom”. There are lots of ornate mirrors, the sinks are modern, and the walls have beautiful koi fish (I told you, the entire hotel was filled with art!).

Another fun spot was the Texas Teahouse Market; we stopped by for coffee, tea, and snacks – and loved the details in the shop! Check out the Texas-shaped tiles on the backsplash. Y’all know how I love my tea.

The inside of the teahouse and market was really homey, and made me feel like I was in a coffee shop or sidewalk cafe – how cute is the setup in there?

And it wouldn’t have been the Renaissance if they didn’t turn the lighting into another art piece – I love the creativity of turning teapots into lights (I’m feeling a DIY project – anyone else?).

The place that made this hotel feel like more than a staycation was the Club Lounge. They served hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and had an awesome make your own cappuccino machine!

Seriously, do they sell these things for home use?

The hotel also has two great restaurants, the Whiskey Moon (which follows more Texan cuisine), or OMA (which has more Asian cuisine) – both have great drinks!

After all the food, you’ll be happy to know the hotel has a full fitness center too – and this isn’t your normal hotel gym with one set of weights and a treadmill. It’s a full fitness center with everything you need!

The Pool

Finally, the piece de resistance – their outdoor deck! There’s a heated pool, outdoor bar and grill, event space, with cabanas and a fire pit. The pool is gorgeous, and since it’s on the rooftop, you have an amazing view! One night before dinner we sat in the hot tub and quite the relaxing time.

For warmer weather days there are also really sleek in-pool chairs that overlook the view – these things will make you feel like you’re on vacation!

There was lots of space to explore and share a drink, and each little cabana felt very private, which was nice.

And of course we had to try out the swinging chairs – they were huge and super comfy!

The Room
The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the decor was inviting – and look at that view!

Even the rooms had the Western and Eastern decor vibe, from the pillowcases to the figurines in the room.

Can’t say that I’ve experienced a more high-tech bathroom – each shower comes with Chromatherapy lighting with four settings. Not only does it look awesome, but I felt so relaxed after a long hot shower.

Book a Fun Weekend!

Right now, the Renaissance has a Beauty Studio Weekend deal, and this sounds like such a fun getaway for a girls weekend. After you book the package, you can call to make reservations for a Beauty Makeover at Sephora (which is within walking distance of the hotel). The package includes your room, two Matcha Collins cocktails, and a mini makeover at Sephora – you’ll leave the weekend feeling super pampered, and you never had to leave the Dallas area! This is only available for stays through March 4th, so call your girlfriend and get planning. The booking code is ZZLR or ZZLT.
