Ladies, here’s a FREE self defense class to check out in Dallas this weekend! The Women’s Self Defense Seminar and Workout, hosted by Chamberlain Studios of Self Defense, will take place at St. John’s Episcopal School (Main Gym; 484 Harter Road) this Saturday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Women will learn techniques to fend off potential assailants—especially important in light of the recent Dallas attacks. Participants will leave with greater awareness, assertiveness, verbal confrontation skills, safety strategies and physical techniques to help prevent, escape, resist and survive violent assaults. In addition, the Dallas Police department will present safety and awareness tips. Childcare, including a martial arts exercise, is provided by a Chamberlain instructor for ages 4+.
Primo Brother’s Pizza will provide a complimentary pizza lunch for the women in attendance and their children.
Attendees can also ‘Break a Board for a Buck’ where they are taught how to break a wooden plank with their bare hand, each ‘buck’ benefits Genesis Women’s Shelter. Attendees are encouraged to wear fitness attire and to bring a donation of cash or gift cards for groceries, fast food or everyday items for Genesis Women’s Shelter.
