Liz paves the way for women in big business.

Liz Lemon (played by Tina Fey) taught women everywhere that they can get their feet wet in big business. It’s not just a man’s world. She’s helped shape career paths for the average woman in a corporate position. The show isn’t feminist though. Tina Fey created this character to appeal to multiple audiences. Plus, Liz is funny, original and can rock a mean blazer.

The Page program is real.

NBC Universal really does have a page program that was started in 1933 for entry-level professionals. Yes, Kenneth’s job is REAL! According to the careers page on NBC’s website, “Pages have the opportunity to work on short or long term assignments in various departments including news, entertainment, digital, marketing, publicity, production, programming and Sports.” Even Regis Philbin was a page once. Sounds like an awesome gig for someone trying to make it big in New York City!

Our favorite quotes

Because this show is ridiculously quotable!

Tracy: “Live like every week is Shark Week.”

Jenna: “That guy wanted to buy you a drink!”

Liz: “Really? But I already have a drink. Do you think he’d buy me mozzarella sticks?”

Jack: “Lemon, I’m impressed. You’re beginning to think like a businessman.”

Liz: “A businesswoman.”

Jack: “I don’t think that’s a word.”

Liz: “Why are you wearing a tux?”

Jack: “It’s after 6 o’clock, Lemon. What am I, a farmer?”

Angie Jordan: “It’s my way ’til payday.”

Kenneth: “It’s like my heart is trying to hug my brain!”

Liz: “Ain’t no party like a Liz Lemon party, cause a Liz Lemon party is MANDATORY!”

This Emmy-winning series has set the bar high for other comedies. So, thank you, 30 Rock and NBC for delivering an amazing show of unforgettable satire to us. We’ll miss it!
