Our little one is coming up on his first birthday! Where does the time go? I can’t even tell y’all the number of times I’ve had friends, and even strangers, say, “I didn’t know there were that many cute boy clothing options!”
During the almost two years that we waited on our adoption to come through I had fun shopping online and in stores all over Dallas. I’m a big fan of bold, black & white prints that can be gender neutral and mix-and-matched with other staple items. But of course, after we found out we were having a boy I made it my mission to find stylish boy items.
When I first heard about Lil’ Firefly boutique I headed straight to Instagram to check out their style. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the owners of Lil’ Firefly share my love of quirky, bold prints, black & whites, along with bright and colorful statement pieces. We even had some of the outfits they carry already in our closet!
My mom, Giant Baby, and I ventured to Snider Plaza last week to check them out in person. We had to have some Texas BBQ to fill up our bellies before our browsing fun.
First impression: I love their pink front door and the angel chair in the changing area (if you’re viewing in a reader you may need to click through to see the Insta photo above)! The store is very inviting. All of their items are personally curated. The brands are specifically selected to allow children to express their personality and spirit through what they wear.
The co-owners, Michele Hines and Sherri Rodebaugh, are very used to kiddos so they didn’t mind that we let dude crawl back and forth under the display table while I perused the racks. I came back to the table with B&W t-shirts three times. So, naturally that was the first item that ended up going home with us. Plus, “Young, Loud & Fearless” describes our dude to a T (see what I did there).
Wondering where the name came from?
“Our customer is a child with a bright, strong spirit and although a ‘Lil’ Firefly’ might have a rebellious streak; he/she will accomplish extraordinary things in life,” said co-owner Sherri Rodebaugh. “Michele and I were ‘Lil’ Fireflies’ ourselves, who have grown into big fireflies that can accomplish anything we set out to do. We want to celebrate and encourage that spirit in children!”
Our guy is in the 96th percentile, so he’s wearing 18-24 month clothing even though he’s currently 10 months. He’s also super active, so we pick pants that can handle his crawling / climbing / sliding / swinging adventures. But aren’t all toddlers?
Fearless… I told y’all!
Go check ‘em out and let us know what catches your eye! I promise strangers will ask you where you found the fun clothes.
