The All-American Rejects (AAR for short) played a rockin’ show this week as a part of the Summer Concert Series at the Pacific Amphitheatre at the 2012 OC Fair.
Fans stood up from their seats while the band sang new and classic hits. Fans reminisced while hearing pop-punk songs, such as “Dirty Little Secret”, “Move Along”, “Paper Heart”, and “Swing, Swing”. I was pumped to hear my favorite AAR song, “Stab My Back.” (I always felt like that song didn’t get as much credit from fans as the other more mainstream songs.)
The band was full of energy all night, which really excited the audience. Lead singer Tyson Ritter engaged the crowd with his silly jokes and sweet guitar skills. He even made some dreams come true by dancing with a few ladies in the front row. Lucky them!
Ritter and guitarist (and Ritter’s long-time friend) Nick Wheeler founded AAR back in 1999 while living in Stillwater, Okla.
The guys’ new album, The Kids In The Street, is worth checking out, especially if you enjoyed their past work. Share with us in the comments section below your favorite Rejects song. We’re glad they are back! (Can you believe “Swing, Swing” was released 10 years ago??)
Concert pictures will be up on OC Weekly’s website.
