I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Summit Entertainment. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
I’m the type of person who likes to binge watch television shows. So, usually I don’t like to read the first book in a series until the second or third book is available. I’m glad I trusted my gut and held off reading book one of The Divergent Series when it first hit the shelves. Because, let me tell you… I’m pretty sure I read all three books without taking a break to eat or sleep.
Page-by-page, I became more and more hooked on the developing story-line in Veronica Roth’s bestselling novels. So, it probably doesn’t come as a surprise that I pre-ordered my movie tickets as soon as Divergent was scheduled for the big screen. The theater near us allows you to pick your exact seat.
My husband and I both read all three books, so we spent the week leading up to the movie premier discussing which parts we thought would be highlighted in the movie. The Divergent Series is great for all ages, it’s action packed, empowering, and the perfect amount of emotion. Even though I essentially knew what was going to happen, I was in suspense most of the movie.
This weekend we had friends over to re-watch Divergent. Do we get some sort of prize for the most prepared movie goers?
Whether you’ve read the books or not, there’s still time to watch Divergent so that you’ll be caught up on all of the happenings. But don’t wait too long, The Divergent Series: Insurgent will be at local theaters on Friday, March 20th!
Here’s a little spoiler image – notice anything different about Tris?
While we’re looking for hints about how Insurgent the movie will differ from the book, how about watching the trailer?

My favorite thing about the divergent series is how it offers a soul searching opportunity in deciding which personality traits you connect with, or find valuable. If you aren’t familiar with the premise, society in The Divergent Series has been separated into 5 “factions”. Each faction embodies a particular trait deemed to be necessary for the success of society.
- Abnegation – Selflessness
- Dauntless – Bravery
- Erudite – Intelligence
- Amity – Peacefulness
- Candor – Honesty
The faction you choose to join determines how you will live your life, and who you will live it with. If you had to choose the faction that would fit you best, what would it be?
