This post is sponsored by the lovely folks at Target.
I know there are plenty of people who are cheering for Fall weather. Admittedly, I am not one of those people. BUT I do have a bit of an obsession with scarves and I’m am pretty excited about wearing boots again. That coupled with the fact that I have zero control over the weather (imagine that!), made me decide it was time to start thinking about how I get the most from my wardrobe this year.
The timing of this post worked out perfectly, I am excited to link-up with my friend Valery for her new series Two Way Tuesday. As you might have guessed by the title of this post, the premise of Two Way Tuesday is to take something from your closet and showcase it two distinct ways. I’m stretching the challenge a bit here, by sharing two closet staples (an infinity scarf and black ankle boots) both from Target.com.
I’d like to meet the genius who lays out the floor plan of each Target. The store we frequent most has the dollar bin (yay!) as well as the accessories collection (scarves, purses, and hats for days) all within view before the electric doors open. I could get lost for hours without making it very far into the store. After a brief *cough* spin around the dollar bins I love to drool over the scarf collection. If I were operating on an unlimited budget I’d most likely have one of each.
For the purpose of this exercise, I chose a combo infinity scarf with two different patterns. I love the dual look, especially when thinking about creating multiple outfits. Hey and bonus, this particular one is only $16.99 and there may or may not be a BOGO 50% off.
Outfit 1: Classy Black & Military Green
Women’s Ponte V-Neck Dress // Military Green and Black Trench // Grey Tote with Removable Crossbody Strap // Women’s Denise Wedge Heel Bootie // Plaid/Tweet Combo Infinity Scarf
This outfit is centered around the fabulous Altuzarra for Target Trench Coat with Back Detail in Military Green and Black. I probably should warn you that the entire Altuzarra collection is limited time only. The black Fit & Flare dress could easily be another closet staple with endless possibilities.
Outfit 2: Casual Blue & Black with Leather Accents
Women’s Faux Leather Layer Top // Vanilla Star Skinny Jeans // Blue Hobo Handbag with Zipper Detail // Women’s Denise Wedge Heel Bootie // Plaid/Tweet Combo Infinity Scarf
Leather accents (or the faux variety) are a big trend this Fall. So, I picked this great jacket with leather accents on the sleeves. I also opted for a fun bright handbag to bring out the blue in the scarf.
I totally have those booties, they are amazing!
That scarf is too die for! I need it in my life. I love how you paired both outfits, but I think I would definitely lean more towards the second one.
